Maru Quevedo moved to Utah in 2015 from Buenos Aires, Argentina after participating in a student exchange program in 2013 for her Sociology and Gender Studies degree. She identifies as a non-binary brown immigrant that uses she/her pronouns.
Maru has participated in different local non-profits including SLUG Magazine, Craft Lake City and We Are Here (a Utah WoC, Non-Binary & Trans PoC art collective). In Argentina, she actively campaigned for the Ni Una Menos movement in both the academic and groundwork spaces. Her main interests are creating and opening new opportunities for immigrant communities and local under and unrepresented artists.
For a professional background, Maru brings 10 years of experience working in Digital Marketing and Front End Development. Lastly, Maru uses photography as a personal creative space and a social tool to increase representation and diversity in the Salt Lake City community.
